I'll be there again this year! I had considered towing my car up behind the truck, but then decided that I'd be missing half the fun of towng a trailer up behind the Spider. I'm not taking highways 101 and 1 this year though. I can only stand so much fun.

Since it's only a couple hours South, I suppose I should show up and check it out. I'm not much for camping, but maybe... Is there gonna be a swap meet?

Sometimes there are some parts for sale, it's pretty informal, so it just depends. There are bathrooms & showers & if reserved months ago, trailers.

We're on our way, wish us luck! I had to vacuum seal the sleeping bags to get them in the trunk, I'm not sure what I'm going to do on the way back? Oh well, should be fun.

I'm jealous! I'm so close that I really wanted to go, but had previous plans. :( Hope you have a great time! I got an email from Val D. saying it's pretty low key this year, but I would still love to be there.

Ron & Krissy Luxmore called from their campsite on the Sacremento River yesterday afternoon (rubbing it in that Maureen and I were not there to enjoy it!). He should be arriving at HP Lake sometime today, if not there already . . . little red trailor in tow.

meet the twins

Post by htchevyii »

So we made it there and back with zero problems, (except for 20 miles if new road construction on the Oregon border, sticky rocks flying everywhere). Ron's car was running great when he split, so hopefully the rest of his trip is going well. We missed the track day, but went on a group drive to Klamath Falls. People drove from as far away as Vermont and Pennsylvania, (in Fiats, and one was a van with a top speed of 50 mph), so you don't really have an excuse not to go next year!

looks like a great time! I wonder what city Ron is replacing his head gasket in this year? I drove to Phoenix to pick up two Spiders, 115 degree heat! Oregon would have been nicer

Would that little, blonde Fiat owner be looking for bears by any chance?? Shoot, you both would be welcome to deposit your little behinds at our place for a while if you make it out this far. We could caravan up to Oregon from here for next year's camp weekend!

Looks like a blast. I should check and see if my passport is still valid and perhaps a road trip is in order next year. Wonder if a few other canuckleheads would want to show up as well.We should be able to carry enough parts collectivly to make sure we make it.
I'd love to put faces to the names seen on the forum and shake a few hands.(and share in a few wobbly pops)

My wife thought it sounded like fun, so maybe my spider will be reliable enough to make the journey. We only have to really drive from Anacortes (north of Seattle), ' cause we can take the ferry to there. Still, as I recall, it is still a long drive down to Ashland. Well, we have all winter to think about it. ... and get the spider ready
