Dash panels and tail lights

Question 1. My 77 has a laminated dashboard instrument panels, center console and glove box right now. But in my trunk there is a perfect real and original all wood set complete with gauges and the part that goes around the shifter as well. So my question is when did they stop making real wood dash panels and go with the cheaper fake laminated dash panels?
Question 2. Tail lights... my car has the orange/red/white tail lights on it right now, but in my trunk there is a set of just red/red/ white tail lights. They have different manufacture names too. why two different manufactures and two styles. I am assuming that the red/red/white are older than the orange/red/white style. but who knows.

#2 - - red/red was appropriate for 1974, but the law changed for 1975, requiring the amber turn signals.
