That looks just like the 914 I fell in love with back in the early 80s. I couldn't afford and that's what got me into Fiats!

Whoo, boy, talk about rust issues :!:

At least we can see Spider corrosion ...

But yeah, what a neat car. I've got a buddy in Roanoke who's "restoring"a 914-6
In quotation marks because he's been at it for 15 years; something's always getting in the way.

I have a 19" K-Mart TV that I'd like to trade for go-kart driving lessons (sometime before the next Dixie FiatFest :?

Hell with the lessons...get me a personal trainer so I could lose another 25 lbs! :D Lighter is faster. The 914 is a great car.I had one and never got it right, though.Extremely expensive parts,if you can find them. The fact that the Fiat is faster, more comfortable ,and better looking has to be part of the equation too.

My son and I had two 914s (one for parts) and we got quite a lot of the body stripped before I sold them, because I realized I did not want to try to work on those engines in such a tight space. But it was an exciting project. My son was far less impressed with the purchase of the spider (looked too much like an MGB to his youthful eyes), until he drove it this summer

I so wanted a 914-6. I saved and saved untill I realized how tightly cramped the engine compartment was with that 6 in it  . I also really wanted a 916  . You can pick them up for about 6 - 12 G's but be prepairred to do a lot of mechanical work or find a mechanic who will take monthly pmts to keep her on the road :D . It would kinda be like having a car pmt just to own one if you ever expect to drive it. As for the plasma TV? Get it to TX and you can have my Spider :D !! Just kidding, It wouldn't be a fair traid. Your plasma would not have all that valuble orange metal on it
