Well I've gone and done it. Along with my 80 fi that I drive, and two parts cars,I've bought a 72 that Launie found in Victoria and working on a purchase of another 72 in Calgary. All need work, one is mechanical and one rust issues.
The rust can be fixed by re & re from the parts cars and mechanical is getting a few parts and bolting back together.
Going to try and save both. After that ????? perhaps starting a vintage type car rental but hav'nt really thought that one through yet.
When they all get home I'll post some pics.

yeup, hook, line and sinker.
Tired of all the mgs and Triumphs around here. See how this goes. Now I find out today the 79 I've had my eye on for the past several years might have to move. The owners have given notice at the shop they rent that they have run out of money and have to give up the shop. The car has a flat, hole in the rear window,rt. rear panel is crunched and it won't start. I thought a deal at $500. but to date he has'nt budged from $2000. I know it won't take much to get running though.

Re: building a fleet
maybe the Canadian dollar is far different than the US version, but I was thinking 500 might even be high for what you've described. For 2k down here you can buy a running, driving car

Re: building a fleet
Yea,your right, the 79 is not worth $500 at the moment, and besides I'm getting tapped out with the last two purchases. The fellow in Calgary has agreed to sell to me the 72,so now I have to collect the two cars.
Two weeks ago the cdn $ was 92 cents and yesterday it was about 85 cents. I have an order pending with Vicks but am going to see if the $ gets a bit closer to 90 cents(bigger order)
