New pics.

Post by ROOK1 »

I haven't done much to the car visually since I got it except new headlight rings with stone guards, new tail lights and I washed it today.

Not too bad for total investment of $600.00

$600 bucks eh... about $2000 cdn  I paid that much for my top. You must have gone to the same school of frugality as my wife.
The car looks great, bet a few miles are comming up this summer.
Tip of the hat to you for a good looking car,it's stance looks great.
Have fun

I have definitely been frugal since I know the big bucks are going to be spent soon. I need a complete interior redo as well as a new top (already in hand $150 and part of the $600), new tires, complete tune-up and paint. I have a buddy that has offered to paint it for the cost of the paint. I am just hoping to get it good enough to drive this summer then I'll paint this winter.

Nice buddy to have Rook.
I remember the picture of your car when it was for sale. Almost couldn't see it for the weeds.

Looking good, Rook, but I find that these cars are pretty darn fun, no matter what they look like. I drove my 72 for years without an interior or exterior trim and in need of paint. It was just as fun as it is now.

I just hope he can paint.

I plan on driving w/o interior. I just need to get some seat mounts welded in and take care of the surface rust, I'm not ashamed of driving a car with metal floors and no radio.

.

I believe mine came from Bayless. I ran across some receipts in the trunk along with a Bayless catalog from the 80's. It has openings at each end, I am assuming to help cool the brakes.

Give me a few weeks and can go run Trappers Loop over to Pineview then down Ogden canyon. Or maybe the other way around then you could split off at I84 and run up through Park City then home. Three canyons with the top down would be fun. Take the care to a more scenic spot then shoot a pic for the album cover.

P.S. I like the new bumpers.
