head ache

Post by Tappy »

SInce I've replaced the last engine , i've never been able to drive for longer then 20 minutes , Seems Like the fiat Gods must have a pick on me because once again i'm dealing with some trouble. Some of you may have heard of my prevous problems with the heating system. Even Having my own Alvon (ventura Ace) And online support from RonLux i came to realise that not even proffessioal help wouldn't solve this problem. Overheating wasn't the problem of its own , it was an indicator of an headgasket failure. This diagnose beeing supportyed with the fackts of bubbles in the expantion tank , suddenly overfilled oil reservoirs , oil in the cooling system and "Mayonaise" Like stuff on the underside of the oilcap.

Being past the point i could think this problem was treatable with a fix from a bottle , i now am thinking foreward a headgasket repair

AN oil leak and overfilled oil level did me suspect of an cooalnt /oil micx in the oilpan.

So wich steps would you undertake if this was your engine ?

So sorry to hear about your head gasket problem, which it certainly sounds like. You may have to start by getting those overdue axle stands and a floor jack, since I think you'll be flushing out the radiator, cooling system and engine - to get rid of the oil/coolant mixture. And you may need a garage to do the work, to keep everything dry. Good luck with it.
