I saw another one that I failed to mention - The Mitsubishi Space Gear. As far as U.S. cars (imports and domestic), I always thought these were funny names if you really think about what they mean or are:

Matador (there's a sign of strength...a guy who stabs a bull)
Vision (I'm assuming it was supposed to be a progressive design)
Corsica (Sounds like a small corsett)
Nova (A star that has blown up already)
Galaxy (they were almost as big as one)
Fairmont (sounds cheap...and was)
Reliant (a car named after a Star Trek ship that had bad connotations)
Corona (a beer to most people)
Gremlin (gremlins are considered bad, are they not?)
Sable (a small critter normally killed and wore around women's necks)

There are more...have any good ones to add to the list?

I understand that GM had difficulty selling the Chevy Nova in Spanish speaking countries. No va means that it "don't go".

What about the Lincoln Town Car? Too bad if you live in the country, I guess...

I always thought Chevrolet's "Citation" was a good canidate. They broke constantly ( had a nasty habit of the rear wheels coming off). Parking it on the street should bring the owner a citation for littering. ...J.D.
