torque question

Post by narfire »

Good morning. Put the axle back in last night and looked for a reference to the bolts that hold the axle shaft to the axle housing. What is the torque for the 4 bolts that hold it in place, thought they are kind of important?
Looked in the manual and I could'nt find a reference anywhere for this.
Thanks

Chris, those are 36 ft.lb. of torque. Did you look at the O-ring on the bearing before you close it up?

Thanks. Yeup, I put a new O ring on (cause of the repair) and seal. The bearing was new last year and seems just fine.
Now to tackle the leaking front seal and head gasket.

Oil for the diff? straight 90 weight? I have some 85-90W ep castrol would that work?
