does fiat still make anything for the spider?
does fiat still make anything for the spider?
Are any parts whatsoever that can be used on a spider still being manufactured or sold by fiat? Maybe stuff that was shared between models such as timing belts, brake pads, filters, etc. I've just been thinking, if some chrysler dealerships are going to become fiat branded dealerships, how odd it would seem to drive to the local fiat dealer parts dept. and pick up the parts for the weekend job on the spider, like having a time machine.

Besides that who would want a part that has gone through some idiot chrysler engineers hands??? Sounds like bad ju ju to me, Chrysler isn't going broke for no reason.

skumandeth, how does a part that fiat makes, which they dont anyways, go bad if chrysler touches it. just wondering.

my post really had nothing to do with chrysler, but simply if fiat still stocked anything for the 124, it would be a trip down memory lane to go down to the local fiat dealer and get some brake pads or something

dont most dealerships stop stalking parts for cars that are 10 years or older. unless there is a huge demand i think.

yeah your probably right. I think Bruce, Bayless, etc. have nothing to worry about.

I'd say it is possible, but not probable. I've worked at BMW & Volvo dealers and at both you could order parts for some pretty old cars, even if the parts had to ship from Germany. I've seen that Mercedes is advertising factory restoration parts in Classic Motorsports magazine. BMW would even let you order some Euro-spec parts. It all depends how long FIAT supports their vehicles and if they deem it worthwile to supply their dealers with cataloging and if their parts distribution system is set up to ship the parts efficiently to the U.S. I doubt any parts would be stocked in U.S. warehouses.

sorry wasn't trying to start any kind of argument, just trying to make light of a screwy situation especially considering the bad rap fiat got in america years ago(combine that with the rep that Chrysler has now) ah hell nevermind guess you'd have to work on alot of this newer junk to understand.

I heard there was a fire on a container ship a long time ago, and they threw all the molds for the Spiders in the ocean to save the ship.
Re: does fiat still make anything for the spider?
no, they sealed the holds and sunk the ship to save everything, including the crew. The crew gradually adapted, grew gills and built an underwater city. When you see bubbles on the surface, you know they're driving the Fiats on the ocean floor.
Re: does fiat still make anything for the spider?
As far as new parts - the only one I've currently seen for sale is 5 speed transmissions made by Polski-Fiat in the IAP catalog.
