Hi Guys
I plan on building a roll bar for my 124 Spider. I have access to 1 3/4 DOM tubing and a tubing bender. Can anyone tell me what the measurements are for the bars that are out there? I'm looking for height from the mounting plate to the center of the bar. I'm also needing the width from the center of the tubing on one side to the center of the tubing on the other. Also, if available, the radii of the bends. Using 1 3/4 I'll probably have to run a couple of kickers into the rear firewall. Does anyone have any pictures of similar installs? I plan on measuring and maybe bending something this weekend. If anyone has some info I would certainly appreciate it!
Thanks for all of the help!
Josh

Make sure you check the SCCA spec's for rollbars in convertibles if you plan to Solo or race your car. A yardstick across the top of the rollbar and the top of the windshield frame must be 2" above your helmet, IIRC. Your convertible top may become useless.

Yes, there are several roll bar rules if you plan to race. If its for looks, go for it!
I removed a roll bar to give back to the "temp" owner, Mr. Flipper. LOL anyway, I took pictures of the former install location for him. check out my photo site at http://www.flickr.com/sonosml

Scott will be going to university this fall in southwestern Ontario. Stock up on groceries and I'll send him down to talk to you.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate the link. The bar will be for looks and a little piece of mind. I don't plan on racing the car. That gives me a good idea of how things fit together.
