world's only push button start 83 spider

LOL....I inadvertently discovered that my 83 pininn spider contains a push button start.......THE POWER TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON.....I'm still laughing so hard I cannot think clearly.....

I was investigating why my power trunk release was not working, and discovered the button disconnected.....an easy fix I thought...just plug in the connector....

Now when the ignition is turned on, pressing the trunk release button starts the engine.....LOL....i an still laughing about it.

It actually works great, and can't wait to see the reaction at my next fiat club meeting.......why pay for an exotic sports car to get that feature, when fiat already included it as a "standard" option in 1983!!!!

Seriously, should I leave it connected? What does the forum think?

It starts the car, but does it open the trunk? Or, do you start the car, and then get out to go to the back and close the trunk?

Is that the suitcase button? We could not figure out what it was since it did not work and then one day I looked at it and thought "duh?" Well now I really know. It means you are going somewhere. With a suitcase of course. Ha!

That sounds like a clever homemade anti theft device. Does the key still start the car when that is hooked up? I have been thinking of adding a secret start button to mine.
