heat from headers

Hi there. Recently installed a set of Ansa headers,sorry Mark the cdn dollar sucks at the moment,(need another 30%) took the cat out as well.
Question is.. will the heat from the header pipe melt the heater hose near the firewall? Last thing I need is for it to blow while on a trip.They have been ceramic coated but still get freeking hot.
After 20 minutes the rubber hose is hot but on extended trips,1-4 hours ???
There does not seem to be any room in there to fashion a shield that might offer some insulation, this engine for whatever reason is very close to the firewall.

I wrapped that hose as it comes off the heater tube with header wrap to insulate it. You could switch the hose out to a silicone one. I also shifted the rad overflow bottle from the firewall to the PS fender and up an inch to get it farther away from the headers, however it still looks like it's in the stock location. Keep it 3/4 full with coolant and it won't melt.

I would also be concerned about the effects of that intense heat on your main ignition wire. They will break down over time.

heater hose would be minor compared to the eventual damage caused to the distributor, and most likely the overflow bottle.

It has been ceramic coated including the down pipe and the cat bypass. I'll get some tape tomorow and wrap the hose up and the wires running next to the firewall.The ignition wire from the dist. should be ok,it's routed up high.
When the weather gets warm again next week I'll try driving it for a bit longer.
