So, I needed front pads desperately (metal to metal with only a days warning), no time to order the Ferodo pads from Vicks.....So....Mark installed the EBT Greenstuff and I now have a couple hundred miles on them. Broke them in proper and running Vicks perf. rotors.
From the start, I noticed a lack of "bite" (realize my benchmark is Ferodo) with the Greenstuff, and soon noticed I was having to concentrate on my pedal pressure on any stops from 40mph and above. As you can imagine, I'm getting annoyed with this and it is really starting to get in the way of my driving pleasure.
Yesterday, I was in the hills and needed to come down a windey, steep hill at maybe 20mph. At the bottom is a stop sign and I must say I could barely get it stopped and thought my foot was going to break the pedal.
Just FYI, these pads feel almost like the stock pads and I will switch back to Ferodo's asap.
Anybody using the GreenStuff??

Tom, thanks for the info.
I did some checking and Bendix now makes a ceramic front pad for Fiat Spiders. Part # D54A
FRONT CQ CERAMIC BRAKE PAD
$24 for the front. Might be worth a check

In all fairness to EBT, I think their green is a reference to "go"..not conservation....also, these pads are touted as performance pads...I actually was looking forward to posting something very complementary about them.
If any body has a good source for the Ferodo pads, that would be great.

Both IAP and Vick sell Ferodo pads for the Spider. IAP's are $63/set, and Vick's are $109. I don't know if they are the same pad; IAP calls theirs "premium metallic" and Vick describes theirs as "hi-performance street/autocross". I've got the Vick pads, and they definately have a lot of metal in them.

See my corrected post above
The pads that IAP sells is a street pad and Vicks sells a wild street/autocross/racing pad.

Yep, Vick's has high performance Ferodas. I'm running those on my 71 and I like them! I didn't have any problems with brake fade or locking up when I took my car out on the track. The only thing I saw that concerned me was when I had to pull the pads off while doing the bushings and ball joints for my front suspension and the pad material looked a bit crumbly. They weren't cracked but the edges looked like they crumbled. I put em back on since they cost me so much.

The Ferodo pad I use is from Vicks, the DS2500...
..."Ferodo DS2500 is a club race pad that can be used on the street and for light track use. This compound produces some noise on the street, but retains good cold friction, and has an MOT of around 1,000 degrees F. It also has 35% less compressibility than competitive products, giving it very good pedal feel and modulation characteristics. DS2500 has an average friction level of approximately (0.50) which remains constant at any speed, and at any temperature up to 1,000° F...."
I paid $53 for them...don't think they are $109...yikes!

I'd buy 'em again for track days since I really am impressed with them. The only thing is they sure produce a lot of brake dust!

Re: GreenStuff vs. Ferodo Pads...the winner is...
Been using Greenstuff pads since last summer and found them to be great, loads better than the standard ones.
