TulsaSpider is very upset formerly!

Post by TulsaSpider »

It started last night when I discovered an amazing deal too good to be true. 1979 Fiat Spider, plus 2 motors and 2 transmissions 1 door and trunklid. $300

http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/1084633785.html

My jaw dropped  and I saw the pics of a very straight nice silver specimen!!
I immediately Emailed the lady who's husband had passed away. I received an E-mail in response. I asked questions etc..
I corresponded with her today as well. I commenced to scrambling as soon as I got to work. Where could I store it? I made a bunch of phone calls and talked to everyone at work, (I live in apartments). I went in and asked the boss for an advance, which I procured. I begged and pleaded, bribed etc. friends to help me go get it on Friday. Then I finally found a place to park it. I called the lady and she said sorry I sold it. damn damn damn damn! AAAARGH! Can you tell I'm upset?
Just what I had dreamed of happening and poof:::::: Her buyer won't be there till Sat so I sent her one last E-mail pleading my case, can't hurt at this point? I was going to do the deal tomorrow, we'll see ugh I feel like I was just run over by a truck...

That is tragic man! Take $400 to her front door tomorrow morning - money talks! And take flowers for her loss. :(

Bummer man, I always get excited and scared at the same time when looking at a potential new car. Don't want to miss a killer deal, but don't want to buy a p.o.s. either. My other problem is I don't ever want to make a parts car out of anyting that is fixable, even if it really should be a parts car

There wasn't a title on this one. Who knows what rust issues there might be? ah well that's life...
I did ask her to pass on to the buyer that I would be interested in buying a motor and/or tranny so maybe I can get something?

I can sympathize with you....... Back last summer before I bought my '80 I found a beautiful '69 about and hour away. I loved the color, bright yellow and it was in pretty fair shape and a great price. I jumped on it but could never get an email or call back even though I found the CL post within a day. Well for those of you who have the latest IAP catalog you can find that very same car getting far more attention than I could have ever given her, as one of the employees of IAP now has it (Somewhere in the middle you can see a picture of Frank and the yellow spider). So, I am still upset but I am happy for her.
