Missing Snaps for Convertible Boot
Missing Snaps for Convertible Boot
When the body shop guy put my interior back in, he seems to have lost the screws with snaps to hold the convertible boot in place. You know the ones on that little rear vinyl quarter panel. Does anyone have any of these, or know where I might be able to get them? The boot just flaps in the breeze and hits my kids in the face, which they apparently don't like all that much.
Re: Missing Snaps for Convertible Boot
if you cannot find any locally, i have a few i could mail you. Every good LBC owner has spares.
you will owe me a beer.
however.... you can get your own at Home Depot or similar. they come in a kit form. Male and female halves, and the anvil needed to fasten them to vinyl or canvas.

Mike,
I found the snaps I needed at Lowe's but I still owe you a beer. If I'm around for FFO I'll buy you one there.
Thanks for all the advice,
Tony

Re: Missing Snaps for Convertible Boot
I replaced my worn snaps with marine twist-lock fastners. The snap portion in the boot was tearing through, so the twist lock provided a simple and effective solution to the problem.
Just make sure you use marine grade so that they weather well.

Adam,
That looks great. I will add it to next winter's list. Looks like a nice upgrade when I re-do the boot. For now it's working out with what I've got.
