Transmission and Rear Diff Fluids

Post by sjwcougs »

I am aware that the fluids required for the rear diff and tranny are very specific. I see two different fluids on IAP. They both are 75W90. One is called differential oil and one is called GL 1 gear oil. There is also some GL-1 gear oil on Vicks's website for half the price. They both are the same weights? GL-1 for the tranny, correct?

I find it all at a trucker's Napa. You need one in the more industrial side of town so they carry gear oil for trucks. The Website lets you shop for store inventory if you know the part numbers.

Tranny: Napa GL-1 90 Gear Oil. $9/gallon. Part # 65-201
Diff: Napa Prem Perf Gear Oil SAE 80W90 Gear Oil. $4/qt. Part # 75210
Motor: Shell Rotella T 15-40W. $12/gallon

Good luck.
