1608 vs 1800

1608 vs 1800, horsepower, torque and redline. anyone have these #,s handy?

These numbers come from the factory shop manual. Evidently, it's when the 1756 was new because it doesn't have much info on it.

so if im reading this right. the 1608 has more horsepower and torque then the 1800? just higher up in the revs. and since i have a 1608 in the garage, might as well go that way. thanx denise. early spiders rule....

I would have to agree that bigger is better, the 1800 is a free revving engine just like the 1600, plus you can use any 1575, 1800, 2l cylinder heads. Any modest improvements in the engines, CR, cams, carbs, ect. will yield you bigger gains in HP and Torque over the 1600. But that being said, if you got a running 1600, use it or sell it.

well, if the 1800 revs as freely as the 1608, and this thing works out, ill just sell the 1608 or put it in my girlfriends sisters car. thanx guys.
