Re: my wife says i lost my mind
i think i'm almost positive i will use por 15 to start, if you look at cost por 15 is about $140 per gallon not to bad and that will be enough to coat the underbody, interior and all chassis parts. Over that i am going to spray undercoating then paint, which i'm leaning towards a satin black. does any one know what the origional paint color was on the bottom ? was it the same as the entire car ?
Re: my wife says i lost my mind
You might want to check. I heard that paint won't stick to Por 15.

POR15 is almost too hard to sand, they sell a tie-coat primer that is supposed to work, but I've had better luck with the Masterseries brand, it is sold as a primer. http://www.masterseriesct.com/azygoustoyou wrote:You might want to check. I heard that paint won't stick to Por 15.

Although it's a little dirty, I'm pretty sure the bottom of my original '78 is black with factory undercoating. There are some places on either side of the spare tire well where the body coloured paint is evident. So it's possible they painted the whole thing the same coulour as the exterior, then covered most of it with undercoating. But I don't know the actual process followed by the factory.

On the 72 I just had stripped, the underside was the same color as the rest of the exterior.
