How do you pronounce Fiat?

Like there isnt anything important going on in my life today...

I have always pronounced it Fee aught (as in yaught) I have been watching Top Gear show from England and have noticed that the Brits pronounce it as Feeit. Got me thinking today... wonder how the Italians pronounce it.

all of my Irish friends pronounce it Feeit, most people that aren't familiar with them say MG

Having toured Italy and visited most of the Fiat manufacturing facilitys, I noticed that they seem to pronounce it as..Fee-at almost Vee-at...

I like to pronounce it "Forever In need of Attention". Some pronounce it "Finding it all terrific". To each his own.

Oh, yeah, and I refer to it as Fee-yacht.

Even down here in the South where we pronounce words with several extra syllables, we like to say Fee-Yaught

Did you all notice that most of the pronunciation for FIAT has "Fee" in it? Wonder why??

Well, it's a long "E" sound...and that's the accented syllable...isn't that why?

I've always said "FEE-ot", but a Canadian buddy of mine says "feeit", almost "feet".

I pronounce it Fee-aught. But my Dad had a little Fiat sedan back in the late 50's and he called it the Fit.

In western Canada, we pronounce it "fee-at", though we do shorten the "a" quite a lot, possibly sounding like "fee-it". I imagine in Ontario and east they say it differently.
