I've been busy

Post by joelbert2k »

Since I got my spider in June I have been rather busy with it. One of the first things I did, after the usual maintenance items and cleanup, was install a new top. Then it was brakes and shocks followed by the biggest job of them all -- removing the gawd-awful yellow rattle can paint job. I was a bit afraid of what I might find under it but it turned out to be not all that bad.
While I was at it I cut 1 coil off the rear springs. I think it looks a lot more "normal".

I guess I need to work on the wheels next.

You got rid of Ferrari Fly Yellow? A nice black convertible top and some chrome wheels!
Now you can sneek up on us and we'll never see you coming.

by the way, I could never figure why there is a Ferrari in this picture with Lamborghini on the wall

Mark, she was out driving the Lambourgini on the day I took a picture of her Ferrari. Looks like the "help" parked the car in the wrong parking space.

That is the original color, or pretty close to it. It had been repainted at some time in it's history but they were smart and painted it the same color. There are a few rust "events" but overall it's pretty good looking.
Thanks for all the complements.
It has been a lot of work. Think of the hardest wax job you ever did and triple it or more. The good thing is that it all came off with goof-off. That took off the yellow but didn't touch the good paint. Had to be careful around plastic though.

Oh, need I add, I now hate yellow!!!
