Is this for real?
Re: Is this for real?
Either way, sure looks like a beautiful car! I am only 40 miles from it. Picture looks a little dated to me.

Re: Is this for real?
If it's real, it should bring $30k to $35k. This guy didn't do himslef any favors though in terms of marketing the car. If you want top dollar, you not only have to provide many pictures, but also documentation proving it is authentic.

If all of my investments weren't in buying groceries for my teenagers I'd be tempted to bid.
At about 20K right now it seems like a steal.

Re: Is this for real?
Lee Putman reports (with pictures) that this is indeed an Abarth. His comments and link to the pictures can be found at the FIAT LANCIA UNLIMITED chat forum.

Re: Is this for real?
Awesome!!! Loved the pics! So what is the biggest difference, other than rarity and weight reduction? Who makes fiberglass hoods and trunk lids??
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!
Re: Is this for real?
1. they were built for racing.
2. yes they are rare.
rear independant suspension is one of the main differences that is not easily duplicated. Aluminum doors, fibreglass hood and trunk are the other major differences.
I saw enough of this "restoration" to say that the interior has been softened to encourage spirited everyday use. padded doors, a radio console, and ?carpeting?
but, i also saw a picture of the suspension, and it is indeed NOT a stock Spider.
