Hi all -
Does anyone know what size the steering shaft is on a 1972 spider 124? The steering shaft is a three piece set up and I need to find out the size of the splined end that connects from the steering column to the middle shaft piece via u-joints.
Any info would be appreciated.

Re: steering shaft size
I can take those measurments tonight and post later. Any specific area of the shaft, ie. outside diameter of the splines, true shaft diameter in the valleys of the splines, standard or metric?
Re: steering shaft size
Yes, outside diameter of splines and number of splines. I'm looking at possible replacement steering column. Was wondering if a universal aftermarket steering column would fit. Or, if any other make/model will fit. Thanks for the help.

I got three of those column assembilies if you want one send me an email: matt.scarton@gmail.com I'll post the measurements tonight if you still want them.
Re: steering shaft size
Yes, please send the measurements. I'd like to keep my options open and see whats out there that might fit those measurements. I am interested in what you've got. I'll email you later. Just want to see if I could find something cool that would fit...maybe a tilt column!?

Re: steering shaft size
The splined shaft that connects to the intermediate section containing the universal joints has 17 splines. The diameter of that shaft including the splines is 14.3mm or 0.56 inches.
