Looks like a nice Spider. I only noticed a couple things missing on it.
1972 124 Spider (Don)
1971 124 Spider (Juan)
1986 Bertone X19 (Blue)
1978 124 Spider Lemons racer
1974 X19 SCCA racer (Paul)
2012 500 Prima Edizione #19 (Mini Rossa)
Ever changing count of parts cars....It's a disease!

Does look good...except for that MG midget blue. Would be hard for a guy to drive that and be taken seriously.

Yup.....No hood emblem, door panel chrome, nozzle on air cleaner that leads to over the exhaust manifold, and where is the fuel pump??

I saw this and was curious. I was going to get ahold of Ace and see if he wanted to go check it out, seeing as it's in Ventura. It does seem strange that for a car with the bidding going so high I don't see any questions to the seller.

What I noticed was the Manual was beat up more than the car and as good as the car looks for it's age ,why doesn't the book look as good?
We all know you can do a make over on our spiders and make them look new again so with out further inspecion and all ,,I couldnt buy it at that price with out knowing how original it really is ..

For example :: I own a nearly new looking Speedo with only 5,6oo miles on it .. I have no intentions of putting it on my car ,but I did think at one time that mine was reading wrong and no good and so i bought the low mileage one thinking it has a ways before wearing out .. since being on this forum and learning from you all I have shelved the Speedo ..for now anyway ,,, LD

I agree; it smells funny. A couple of hours with a steam jenny and an Earl Scheib paint job.

Mark's comment elsewhere about the chunk missing from the guibo confirms that it's a dress-up job only. No consciencous "classic car" dealer would fail to notice an obvious safety defect such as this.

The "private listing" is probably another ruse; I bet he's the one bidding it up in nice, even amounts, waiting for some sucker to jump in.

I don't know much about scamming on ebay, but this looks legit when I click on the link to the seller at the bottom of the listing ("about ME"). It takes me to a nice site about California Classics car company with some pretty legit looking photos of the two fellows who own the business.

I'd love to know if this turns out to be a scam. Somebody should drive over there and check it out. I would, just to see what they have, but I'm not sure the Spider would make it :)

Flex disc does look a bit odd. Kind of looks like a large diameter and thicker disc that was pie sectioned to fit between the three forks. They are also using the rear trailing arms as lift points.

the flex joint is definitely broken, catalytic converters weren't installed until 75 models and then only on Calif cars. I've never seen that color interior with a blue car. The trunk cardboard has been replaced, hence the large gap between the two pieces

Yeah it has that Frankenstein-car appearance, Blue car, red seats, black top...

The fresh coat of paint and the nice thick (all black) undercoat on her belly... only 2 owners... all the seller needs is a cigar and a loud plaid jacket and white shoes! (matching belt optional)

41 bids! Over $10,000 OMFG!

Bidding just ended at $10,655.00 Somebody is going to have buyer’s remorse. Makes me want to contract out that seller to list mine.

That car was on ebay about a month ago and it had a reserve, the only thing different this time is no reserve and all private bids?!?! Must be the same guy from Japan with the Momo steering wheels.....anyone ever try buying one of those?

No kuhndg, but I've looked at them. Please elaborate. An informed consumer is a smart consumer.
