You'll have to go with Koni's. I hear just changing the fronts will make a big difference.

I got some grey KYB's on the rear that came with the car, and some 2 year old Monroe sensatrack oil filled shocks on the front from NAPA ($20). Stock suspension and the ride is great. Watch out for overly stiff shocks, unless you are interested in a shock tower fix.

On a side note: Have you noticed a lot of new cars have noisy shocks. Go over a bump and it sounds like a turbo blow off valve releasing. Especially the little VW GTI's and Rabbits.

Matt, interesting you say that. I have a Sentra SE-R SPEC-V ( the suspension is different on the SPEC-V, hence the reason for mentioning) and it certainly makes that sound going over the numerous speed bumps in my neighborhood. I owned several RX-7's prior to that and don't recall any noise from the shocks.

Does anyone know of a good shock that is not $140.00 apiece? I would love to have some Konis...

I havent had Koni's for my Fiat, but did have them on a RX-7. Hated em! They were great on a autocross course or other aggresive driving arenas. The problem was the car was my daily driver.Ruined the nice ride of the car.Every pebble was like hitting a speed bump at 50 mph. They were really overpriced, too.I guess it depends on how you use the car.
ps...I really like the KYB's on the Fiat, although I only have the worn out stock shocks I removed to compare them to.
