Hey everybody,
I have been scrambling to find service/repair manuals for my fiat. I have the usual Haynes/Chilton type but they leave a lot to be desired. I came across books4cars.com. I found a Fiat factory service manual that was listed for $79.95. My reaction was AWESOME. A manual from Fiat that had to contain more info than the ones I've got. Well after $8.95 shipping and waiting for 10 days, it finally came. To my surprise it had the content I was hoping for. To my horror, it was a Xerox copy of the original manual ! Man I was torqued. I realize that cars have not been in production since the mid 80's and publications probably quit soon after, but a Xerox ??????? Interestingly enough they claim publications going back as far as 1910 and that some of the publications may be used, no where does it say that they may be copies. The last thing I would have expected especially for that kind of money was a Xerox........
Just fair warning to any of you out there that are considering buy from them, you may get a copy not a bound book.
Anybody buy service manuals from books4cars.com ???
Re: Anybody buy service manuals from books4cars.com ???
the factory manuals that all of the vendors sell (and have sold for about 20 yrs) are copies. The original manuals were in a loose leaf notebook, not bound. All of the pages are included, but the quality of the pix leave alot to be desired. They should advertise the book as a reprint, but I'm not sure if the usual vendors even do that
