Wierd popping noise at rear wheels when moving
Re: Wierd popping noise at rear wheels when moving
Checked all of the gears and bearings, all good. Diff has mucho oil. The next step is the wheel. I remembered that when I removed the passenger wheel for the first time I noticed that there were no guide pins on the hub and the space plate between the hub and wheel was not attached. I tried to install new guide pins but the axel hub had no threads for the pins to screww into. I just put the pins in loose and replaced the wheel. After that is when I heard the noise. Could it be that these pins are not allowing the wheel to tighten down enough and is wobbling on the lug bolts? Looked at them last night and they felt loose and needed to be torqued down again. We will see tonight after work. Back under the car. At the least the weather is nice.

Got it. What I found was that when I put the after market guide pins I purchased from Vick, they had threads and a nut on the pin. When I found I had no threaded holes in my hub, I just slipped them into the unthreaded holes and replaced the wheel. The problem was that the nut on the pins did not fit flush enough to allow the wheel to seat therefore causing it to slip on the lug bolts. Took the pins out, wheel seated to the hub, no more pop, pop noise. WHEW!! Thanks again for all the help, guys. More to come.
