It is possible to be able to configure the website so that when you click on a link, a new tab will be open for that link.

I really dont like clicking on the links and being taken away from the forum... makes me lose the track and had to use the back button to return to the forum to look again for post.

Just right click with your mouse on the post you want and open in new window or new tab. I think everyone does that already.
All website work that way.

You can also hold down a "shift" key while clicking on any link. That will open the linked page in a new window. I use it all the time to avoid going "back" to a topic or a list of topics."

I kind of had the feeling the answer was going to be something like that.... lol
I used to know it all.... Know I have my 10yo son to configure our new gadgets.. and believe it or not I just returned my new Iphone because I didnt feel I needed I all that and for the first time wanted to keep things simple.... I guess my inner self is trying to tell me something!!! I hope is "finish your fiat and drive it".
