Can't delete messages.

Post by ROOK1 »

I am having difficulty deleting messages. I mark the messages I want deleted, choose "delete marked" the click "go" the click "yes" when it asks are you sure. I wait a minute and it talkes me back to my in box where I still have the max 20 messages. I have tried this several times. Is there an issue with the site at this time?

I checked out your permissions, and there shouldn't be any issues with deleting messages. I haven't heard of anyone else having that issue

Thanks Mark. I will try it at work tomorrow as I am still having the problem here at home.

If anyone is waiting for a reply from me please be patient.

I have a PM waiting to be read, but I am getting the following message on my control panel:
"You have 1 private message currently on hold because of full folder.
Release all on-hold messages… they will be re-sorted into the appropriate folder if enough space is made available."

I have deleted all sent and received PM's and deleted all cookies, but still can't see the PM which is waiting to be read. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

I checked your permissions, and your pm choices are all enabled, so you should be able to delete messages

Mark - Thanks for checking, but I still can't read the new message. My Inbox, Outbox and Sent Messages folder are all empty. I still see the system message that I included above. How do I "release all on-hold messages"?

on the list of pm's, there are boxes on the right. Click on the messages you want to delete, then scroll to the bottom and select the action you desire in the box. Choose delete marked messages, that will remove those messages.
I changed the default action for pm, so that the oldest message will be deleted if a new message comes into a full message box, so that might eliminate the problem

Mark - Thanks for persisting with this. I had already done what you described. I can receive and sort new PM's, but still have this message on the PM screen (copied & pasted):

"Folder is 0% full (0 from 20 messages stored)

Compose message

You have 1 private message currently on hold because of full folder.
Release all on-hold messages… they will be re-sorted into the appropriate folder if enough space is made available.

No messages"

Now it's just a nuisance - no other functionality is affected. On all my screens it says at the top that I have (1 new message) , but I don't. Don't worry about it.
