I am down to two items to remove before bodywork...Door handles !!!!. How the $%@# do you remove the door handles. I can access the screws but how do I disconnect the plastic joiner from the handle to the lock bit...thing.

Re: Nearly there !
I took the nuts off, pulled the handles thru to the outside as much as possible, then dis-connected the linkage.
Re: Nearly there !
lube them up with penetrating oil so the plastic connectors don't break
Re: Nearly there !
You should be able to put a rather large flat blade screwdriver between the 2 parts, and give it a little twist to pop the connector off. That's the easy part. Many times the screws /nuts holding the handle in place are rusted and very difficult to remove without breaking the stud off. Use penetrating oil and patience.

Naaaa, I usually just take a hammer to it, then vacuum up the pieces.Baz wrote:Thanks Men.....I thought someone would tell me to wind up the window first !!!!!

Seriously, it's easier if you just take the window out. There are 2 screws that hold the window to the winding mechanism. Remove the screws, remove the window, then you'll have much more room for the hands to work.
