Found a couple different options for the body work, once that gets done its new seats, carpet, put in the stereo I already have from a previous car, detail the engine compartment, rob a bank, hide the loot so my wife doesn't know how much I'm spending. You know, the usual.

Oh yeah, electronic ignition too, after the bank job

Ah, but that is 220 kph (138 mph). But still much better than the 85 mph that our '82s came with.

I realized it was kph ,but those good ole boys that look at my car wouldnt have a clue. They think if its on the speedo ,thats what she'll run! I bought a 140 speedo to put in,then found out it was a deeper set guage and looked odd.It is still in my parts box,

Boy, everyone has some agressive projects this winter. Good luck to all. I am continuing my work in progress. Got the 1980 running well, all new gas lines and clean tank, all lights working, brakes replaced and ready for state safety inspection. New tires are an expence in my budget this winter. Got to replace my panhard bar, but it will not affect handling if I put it off for better weather. Winter is mild down here in the Houston area. Most of my work is done outdoors. I keep it covered. Plan to drive it on a regular basis soon. I plan on doing some body work here in between budget crunches, got some rust to deal with soon. Happy holidays to all and to all a good night.

Now that I finally have a car to work on, I get to post in this thread!

My list is tentative, depending on what I hear from So Cal Mark on the mechanicals, once he has a chance to look at it. I know I have some electrical issues to attend to (pass side headlight goes on and off intermittently). Beyond that, there are lots of cosmetic things to work on. I need a new top, new consoles, and new paint, and I'd like to change out the steering wheel. Mostly looking forward to getting my hands dirty and really getting familiar with the car.

My list just got a whole lot less aggressive. I'm in the process of adding onto my house (another garage, of course) and the project is running several thousand dollars over the original budget. Just like with my Fiat, I caught the "while you are in there" bug with this construction project. So that super duper bare metal respray has been delayed until next year!

Makita, what is the red car on the magazine cover in your pic? It looks interesting.

Nice rings BTW. Are they real or stickons? Not that it matters, I obviously can't tell if they are stickons. Looks fantastic.

Those rings are real chromed metal rings. Bought from ebay, (link here)
