Happy TAppy

Post by Tappy »

AAAH finally its so far the spider is back in a rolling state !!! After a pita instalation of the lancia engine who fits perfectly but misses out on some small things that set us back more then wanted , like no alternator bracket etc

We didnt put on the alquati manifold , block mount dizzy(not yet availabel), and the lancia cams this will be a summer project , just didn't want to buy another set of gaskets and timing beld again

for some reasen the original turtleback aircleaner did'nt fit anymore , probably because of the new rubber motormounts, anyway i'm seeking some nice ramflo's for it if anyone is up for a trade ? Togheter with the hood not closing for one of another dark mistery reason the lock of the hatch didn,'t work either , seeking one of those 2

Ofcourse it isn't finisched , but hey will it ever be? Only thing i still need to do is to get the shims adjusted and some exhoust modifications before it can be daily driven !!

got her back from the garage yesterday , they put in the mathing shims and regulated the carbs
Still somme little flaws there , the disc on the optical triggerything that you put on the dizyy shaft was come loose and made setting a good timing a pita , but its glued on now , that shall learn it , hehe

Only thing still have a rattling noise , according to the italcars guy one of the valvebuckets is sticking , so monday i need to get the camshafts needs to come of , hopefully some sanding paper will do the trick

and i need the exhoust to be fitted properly (read : get al resonaters out , just a straight on pipe to the rear muffler)

Ya know Tappy, When I saw pictures of your car that you shot in the warehouse district, I thought your car was awesome. Then I saw pictures of you and your pretty bride on your wedding day and the car looked beautiful again. I am amazed how fast that car had gone down hill and has given you nothing but trouble since then, and I hope that you have ironed out all the problems. In my mind its still that beautiful little car of yesterday.
Heres to a wonderful, trouble-free 2009 for that little Spider.

Those turtlebacks are very rare!

You can get good cash for one of those! Prebay it here, if it doesn't sell here.. ebay it!
