and speaking of wheels....
I've never seen what I would call great looking wheels on a Fiat. Like a BBS RS wheel...the closest would be Volumex wheels. Are there such a thing. I'm talking about a recessed, centre with highly polished lips.

LD, those are the Turbo wheels.
Jimb, Fiat wheels don't have much of a lip unless you can find a wider wheel. I don't know what a BBS rs or Volumex wheel looks like but my Carroll Shelby wheels have a polished lip:

slightly off topic but I have a rim color question----my 79 has the original painted rims and I want to restore them 100%. The paint color is not really balck and silver but black and a grey...does anyone know the color codes for the rims? 9 The pattern has been called the "flower petal" design as oppossed to the iron cross. I have a set of spoked crome rims available but want to go 100% retro. Idea?

while the steel wheels were standard, the iron cross were an option. So either one would be correct on the car, and the iron cross look SO much better, IMHO

ah finally , something i know something about :) Wel there lenso bsx rims , if you google on lenso you can find a dealer near you or maybe on a evilbayisch site , these are 15 inch , 20 mm ofset 7j ,4 x100 pattern but you also have 16inch 7.5j i'm not sure these would fit price i've payed for the set, including bolts ( its a 100 mm pattern so you need some "jump"bolts ) , tires and instalation by a proffesional :: 750€ , but i guess you can get them cheaper in the states

Well I got my wheels and they are in BAD shape. Pitted and very dirty. I got some stuff called "AUTOSOL" metal polish and it doesn't seem to be doing a great job. Takes a lot of elbow grease. :|

I got some compound buffing wheels ( sears ) and used a very light rubbing compound with my electric drill. Cleaned em up well! http://flickr.com/photos/wwwfiatspidercom/2541101897/

Oh boy.. I saw this discussion yesterday. I am absolutely obsessed about the idea of completing
The set of wheels I have. I have been looking for one of these BBS looking wheels. I have only 3. I bought them on ebay but unfortunately one of them never got here. I'm sorry guys if I seem too pushy but like I said, I really want to put those wheels on my spider. Please, let me know if any of you guys have a set or a loose rim for sale.
Sincerely,
Luis
