1982 Fiat Automatic for sale Again

Post by GOPAPA »

The Guy called me today about the offer I made him {pending on a look at it} and I stuttered and said yes. So tomorrow I will go look at it . If it's got a lot of visable parts that are good I will buy it an bring it on home .. I will have to find a dry place for it with a roof as it has no top..

This is a short notice but if you have any advice on what to look for ,,then reply ,reply reply.. It doesnt run so will have to just buy according to what he has said about the starter not engaging with the flex plate and that it did run when parked.

It's missing the passenger seat and rear seat but the door panels are supposed to be good .. the only question I have right now is how much is the fuel injection worth on this motor ,,or how much is the motor worth with it ? $500 ? LD

Hey LD,
I wish it were down here, I'd buy it!
As far as the FI value, piecieng it out would get the most return for you: ECU, Dual relay, Air flow meter, Aux. air regulator,
each of these alone can be pretty pricey. Then you've got the wheels, are they Turbos? Look at the rest of the parts in the car and it would definately bring you a good return. Sounds like your first idea is to try to get it running. That's always a good idea if the body & frame components are in decent shape. As you know, most of us like to see a car saved if possible. Who knows, we could end up meeting whoever were to end up buying it from you at Oregon 09.

I'm sure if you put an ad out on several of the forums you'll sell the rear diff in no time, possibly for a few hundred. Another auto spaider fan may want the transmission as a spare, another few hunderd there.

Thanks to both of you and I will look at the car this Saturday as the guy said no Worries as no one is looking at it anyway and he said he might come down.. I got this information from him today about 9:45 when I called him to tell him I couldn't make because I had to take my wife to the Er at 7:30 this morning with high blood preasure and chest pains .. While she was in X-ray I called him..
Since last May this is the 6th time she has either been taken by me or Ambulance to the Emergency Room for this problem and she keeps getting a good bill of health for her Heart,,which is good ,,but this time I told the doctor that we need to admit her to the Hospital and get a internal Medicine doctor to find out whats causing this sudden rise in blood preasure and chest pains that act like a heart problem but they say it isnt'

will get back in a couple days and let you all know about my dear wife and the car for sale .. Ld

First of all I want to thank 4 baby car and you ga Spider for your consern for my wife from this forum . ,,, She is much better and is getting tests done to find what is wrong with her . It has and did have me worried and I still am concerned but not a much worried knowing it isn't her heart at this time ..

As far as the car goes ,,I did buy it and got it home ,, It does have the full Injective system and until I get it running from the starter not engaging the flex wheel I wont know if it is operating correctly. It is a automantoic Chevy 2 tranny I guess from what others had said . I am tied up some with my wifes illness so not sure when I will get to working on it .
If I decide to sell the parts on it ,,I will give you second chance on the fuel injection for your friend 'after my son who has a 80 model carb.. and says he wants it .. thanks again for your good will for my wife ,, LD
