Please check the pressure only with a gauge, the FI system operates at high (35-50 PSI) and if you take a supply hose off the fuel rail you will get a bath or worse! NEVER test a FI system by removing a hose, this is a recipe for disaster. If the pump is functioning properly and it starts to pump, fuel WILL go everywhere! One spark and you and your car can be toast in seconds! You are strongly advised to use a proper pressure gauge to verify that fuel pressure is within specifications. The Pump must do two things: a.) Run AND b.) Deliver usable pressure to the injectors. A fuel injection manual and service manual is a very good resource to help diagnose this and other problems.

i've had problems with the fuel injection also, but most of the time it was the little sensor on the front of the engine right behind the radiator. so i've never really had a problem with the system and get at least 25 miles to the gallon to replace it would be a mistake inless your are building a race car the the dual weber setup would be ausome and as far as the fuel pump is concerned so cal is right fiat does not use oil pressure but the air flapper valve and ignition pulses to get the pump running check your sensors and wiring first before getting a ecu
