Rotisserrie Mounting on a 74
Rotisserrie Mounting on a 74
I am going to be putting my 74 Spider on my rotisserie to do all the rust repair work it needs. The last car I had on it, a 75 280Z, I mounted to the bumper mounts. The Fiat bumper mounts look a little flimsy to me! So has anyone else put theirs on one? If so, how did you mount it?

There have been quite a few threads on rotisseries in the past, here's one done by our Ozzie friend Curly using two engine stands, a pretty common method. It has been suggested that the door openings be braced also.

For other ideas use the search button at the top of the page. You may even find the one where someone (I forget who) just propped it up sideways with 2X4s. Hey, it worked.

This is for older Fiats, but interesting anyway. Take some pics for us please! http://www.hitchhiker.org/fiat/ Ron, Did they let the other fella out of the hospital?

OK! I finally got it on the rotisserie! I came up with my own way to mount it! It works very well and is very stable! I promised I would get pics up after I got it done so here they are...tell me what you think!

That is awesome! Looks like you can spin and revolve it.
Good work.

I think this design, with the frame underneath, will keep everything straight when I cut the floors out. I am going to tie the front and rear subframes together and do away with the small pan for the rear seat passengers. I'll do a few other mods and fix all the rust, sandblast the bottom side, epoxy prime it, and then body Schutz it. I will never do a frame off again without a rotisserie! I made this one and have used it for three other cars. They make it so nice when it comes to welding! Slag in the ear hurts! I have another project that has wormed it's way between the Fiat but it WILL get done!
