e_brake cable removal from caliper...........
How do you remove the e_brake cable from the left rear caliper? I can't get the ##*&% spring off.
Re: e_brake cable removal from caliper...........
I had a hell of a time.
I ended up using vice grips to grab the "ball" at the end of the cable and channel locks to compress the spring in the caliper. It's a lot easier if the caliper is free, you can arch it against the spring.

Thanks, I was able to loosen the adjuster under the car, that gave me much needed slack. The cable came right off the caliper. With the added confidence, I removed the other side (right caliper) cleaned, inspected it and put it back.

Re: e_brake cable removal from caliper...........
yeah that was pretty easy once I loosened the handbrake cable, who would have known! I borrowed a tool from the local auto shop that allowed me to put the caliper pistons back in. It is a small attachment to your socket wrench and away it goes. I didnt realize there is a threaded stud inside the caliper that the piston sits on. I thought it was a push n play thing.
