I'm in the process of restoring a 1978 124, black with red interior, and can't find red interior door panels, or anybody that can make them for me. Does anyone have any possible leads?

Vinyl paint actually works pretty well, and I have used Duplicolor vinyl paint with reasonable results. Whether you could find it in your shade of red is another question.

Have you tried a local upholstery shop? My local shop did wonders with replacing my upholstery at an affordable price. Mine was a mom and pop operation and they were great to work with. My car is orange with a black Interior. They suggested black marine vinyl with orange stitching and piping. It looks stunning and I won an out of town car show with it in May.
