Expert fiat mechanic San Diego area?

Have a local mechanic who “tries” but searching for someone with legit experience (fiat savant/enthusiast) working on 124 spiders — mine is a 1975 (1800 engine, after market Weber). Does anyone exist in San Diego county?

One option would be to talk to Chris Obert, the vendor at fiatplus.com. He's in the Santa Cruz area, but he knows a lot of Fiat people and he might have a suggestion.

I highly recommend driving to Upland, CA to "Resto Motive" (formerly Allison's Automotive) to have Juvi work on your car. He took over the business from Mark Allison and was basically under Mark's tutelage for several years. It's a two hour, 125 mile drive for you but if your car can handle it you will not be disappointed. I was out there recently and there was Mark. Retired, but still lending his expertise to Juvi.

Interesting link I just came across. Lists mechanics that work on Fiats. My mechanic in Texas is on the list , so that’s all I can verify personally.

All, the link to the fiat repair places showed an Adams repair shop in San Diego. Called and spoke with the owner and they don’t work on old fiats anymore. Whoever developed the lost, if you’re listening, thanks for removing the San Diego resource. Still rowing the same boat in search of land. Getting desperate.

Just in case Pr124spider doesn't see your question, I'll step in and say that I've been trying to help him find a good mechanic in San Diego, but without any luck. I'm running into the same problem in the San Francisco area. So, it's weird: There are still plenty of Fiats running around, but the number of honest, reasonable (cost), and competent mechanics seems to be dwindling. Plenty of places that will take your money and throw parts at the car, but that's not what you want.

Sorry to not have a better answer, but that seems to be where we are currently. If you do find a good mechanic, please let us know.

Thanks for weighing in perfectly Bryan! Fellow San diegan — the search continues. And the place I had been taking it to (101 European solana beach) is closing soon so I’m really concerned. If you find someone pls let me know — and I’ll post if I do.
