Hey,
I have always wondered which Weber came stock on the 1970 Spiders? When I bought the car the original carb was long gone.
Sorry for the multiple entries of the same post but when I tried to post it it said phpp error so I tried a few times and got the same error. Now I see it posted it every time.

Re: Which Weber carburetor?
The original carb for a 1970 spider would have been a 28/36 DHSA. Possibly a 26/34 DHSA if the car was very early in the 1970 model year, but the two carbs are essentially identical except the barrel sizes are different (and some jetting changes).
They are not bad carbs, but the secondary is vacuum operated and is essentially "all or nothing" means the secondary throttle valve is either closed or open all the way. The other issue with the vacuum secondary is that the rubber diaphragm develops leaks and replacements can be hard to find.
I have several of each of these if you happen to be looking for one.

Re: Which Weber carburetor?
Hey Bryan thanks for the info. From the looks of the original intake I think it may have been the 26/34 due to the smaller opening on the primary side. I currently have a 32/36 on an 1800 intake but would like to go back to the stock set-up, I can't seem to manage the coolant leaks from the 1800. What would the 26/34 set me back? You can pm me. Thanks.
