Vick's Performance Header & Exhaust

Post by SeattleSpider »

I have a question for the membership (and our sponsor): I recently purchased a performance exhaust header and complete performance exhaust system from Vick's. Although, on Vick's website is shows all of the piping as nice round and large pipes, when we received the system there was a substantial crimp in the piping. Vick's insists that this is not a defect, but I cannot see how it cannot be. The whole idea of a performance exhaust is that the gasses free-flow throughout. A substantial crimp restricts that flow. Is Vick's selling me a defective product? Please let me know your thoughts.

I think the posts on Mirafiori answered your question, but I would take it up with Vick's. If the header was damaged in shipping, then there should be some solution, but if the downpipe is intentionally crimped to fit through the steering center link / crossmember space, there may not be much recourse.

The car is actually at a performance mechanic. I will try to get a picture on Tuesday . . . posting it is a whole 'nuther thing! Sorry, haven't figured that all out yet. Will try.

Hmm I've installed the same Vicks sys., it fit perfectly I'm wondering if you are referring to the midpipe that connects to the rear muffler/pipe, if so there is a bend in that pipe but it has to be in order for it to fit, it shouldn't affect the performance much if any. I guess we'll wait for your photo. My question to all other forum members is has anyone else installed this same sys? If so, what is your opinion? My only concern is the ultra loud sound, what's your take? Tia.
Cheers.
