Re: hot cam install
Are the cams regrinds or new billets? If reground, valve clearances will be way off requiring much thicker shims. If you are good at the valve adjustment tool and like to swap shims with cam in head, go for it. Or you can try to assemble with the new, correct shims.
When removing the cam box, watch for the buckets falling off the bore. Bag each bucket and shim in a I1-4, E1-4 ziplock bag. Measure and record the shim thickness at each valve. Install the cam box with new cam and buckets and shims in original positions. Measure valve clearances and calculate needed new shim thickness. You may end up needing shims that are thicker than the max available. In this case I'd get some 1mm lash caps from europe.
What kind of a header do you have? Hot cams need a good header to run well.
