Hey everyone,
i'm sorting some electrical issues, and noticed at idle that my tach is only reading about 800, but sounds normal. Seems like this is a bit low, any suggestions on how to correct this issue? I've cleaned all the spade connections to the gauge with emery paper and its still low. I need to adjust the carb because its running really rich, but doubt that would effect the readout on the gauge. Thanks in advance for any help. Hope to be back on the road soon after sorting out some small issues.

850 is the normal idle rpm for a manual spider. Keep in mind that you have to multiple the tach reading by 100, so if the needle is pointing to the 10, it's 1000 rpm. If pointing to 40, it's 4000 rpm, etc.
These Veglia tachs aren't very accurate at low rpms, but the needle should be slightly below the 10 at warm idle. You could also check with a professional-grade tachometer. A friendly repair shop might even check it for free.
