Engine Running strangely

Post by DutchSpider »

Good day,

Today I started her up and it was all fine. Once the engine was nice and warm i revved her to about 3000 and it started going erratic.

I couldnt hold the revs at 3000 , it felt like it lost power and then regained it. ( i kept the pedal steady trying to keep 3000rpm) and eventually it just stalled. Idle is fine.

I changed : plugs, filter, oil and oil filter, plus last two parts of the exhaust.

I thought it was the hose from the filter box to the throttle so i changed that too. I checked the MAF and it opens and closes with no issue.

I cant put a lid on it. Was fine till now. This started a week back.

What do you think ?

Shaun, it sounds like something is restricting your fuel flow. Could be a clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump, blockage in the lines, vacuum building up in the gas tank, etc.

Bryan,

I checked the hoses, i replaced the pump and filter. I checked the o2/lambda it looks ok. I also removed throttle sensor ( i regret it ! blasted screw underneath a major PITA)

No blockages as far i can see in the fuel hoses.

I have a video which i could send !

I had similar issue- and it was the fuel delivery siphon nipple from fuel tank - but before fuel pump. I add it had some “lawyer” like yellow chunks in it. I cleaned and added a pre-filter to prevent any of these particles ruining fuel pump. The filter later needed to be cleared from these particles a year later.
Ultimate solution (if this is problem) is to get new fuel tank
