Picked a car up few months back and going over everything. Previous owner have added a extra clear fuel filter by the fuel rail possibly to see if there are any debris. Would this be a issue with the flow or pressure. I know our cars make about 40psi fuel pressure and regulated fuel pressure at the rail. Am I hurting anything by having that clear filter ? If I needed to keep and replace it what micron level filter should I add for not to restrict flow?
Car runs just fine I'm trying to understand the logic behind having two downstream filters after the pump. Have anyone done such thing ?
Thanks in advance
Sid.

Re: 81 fiat spider efi redundant fuel filter question
This is a good question as I know some people have installed a filter between the tank and the pump to reduce potential debris from entering the fuel pump. I'm not sure why two filters downstream. With that said, it is nice to see fuel flowing with a clear filter in the engine bay. I would think the added filter for regular fuel is a 10 micron filter. A 10 micron filter should not alter fuel pressure to any point of concern.
