John, weren't you talking about adding an anti sway bar to the rear?

No, that wasn't me. But that does remind me...I bought a set of four new shocks earlier this year, and I installed the front ones when I rebuilt the front end. The rear shocks are still sitting in a box in the corner of my garage. One more project for this winter, though that one is pretty easy.

My plans for the winter mostly include driving the car. True, I might have to wear a coat occasionaly. To tell the truth, it does get cold out here in the high desert for a month or so.
The rest of the time I just plan on harrassing you guys in the "great white north".

That's a busy winter, Bernie!
Hey, that was my navigator that got us lost on the drive at FFO, I was just driving -- make another set of road maps for him, would ya?!! :D

Anyway, I really liked the doing the hill climb twice, no matter what Denise said about it. Sorry, Denise, I do feel bad that you almost fell off the road the first time around, but you did so much better the second time.

If the Philadelphia reference was a jab against the Dodgers, I will be the first to congratulate you Philly fans. You have a heck of a good team. They certainly ouplayed the Dodgers this time around. Good luck in the Series!

Replaced all the rear suspension and brake compensator last weekend
Going to replace the windshield and frame this weekend (thanks Ace)

As for this winter...whats that? Sorry guys. Ron, let me know when it gets cold for that month. I'll harass you.

Continue to clean up and refurbish spare parts to sell, clean up and rebuild 2L block to drop into the 1800 with the help of the engine crane and engine stand I built a few weeks ago.. total cost $25 nuts, bolts, wheels and the jack. While the engine is out I'll replace the lower seal on the steering box, do the dreaded frame rail fix , cut out and re-weld some holes in the floor. possibly re-work the exhaust. I got pretty good at welding while building the engine crane and stand. Drop on a 34 ADF, finish my cold air intake kit, install an oil cooler, build a custom wood dash, build some fiberglass speaker pods to replace the map pockets.

You know just a few small things.. oh, and possibly buy two more spiders for $500, one to part out and one to soup up. And continue my new hobby of spearfishing.

Luckily winter lasts all year long... or is that summer?

Started spearfishing before I was 10, commercial diving was the other half of the family business besides gunsmithing. Finally got through to dad there was more money in gunsmithing than fishing and it only took 25 years. Now all of the sharks we see are "Land Sharks" Candy Grahm anyone?

The problem with spearfishing is you finally know what fresh fish really tastes like and can't order it out anymore. :(

I congratulate them, too, but I'm afraid the celebration will be short-lived.

With the rebuild, I'm hoping I can keep up with you guys next year! (and I'm bringing my Garmin).

for the Great Cruise of '08 i used my cell phone, a CB radio, some pre-printed turn by turn maps, and my Tom-Tom to keep the group together. twenty two cars is a mean feat to keep on the same path for an extended period of time.

Lee was yelling at me in the CB, Jon was calling on the cell phone, my wife/navigator was twitching in my ear, and the Tom-Tom was bellering.

nice to know that the GPS unit had a mute button.

We have a saying in the shooting world, no target is too close or too big to miss, same thing applies to driving.

This year's DC Fiats "Crab Run" will have different cue sheets for several groups of drivers. Groups will be passing opposing groups on the same stretch of road; groups will split left and right at the same stop sign, etc. The Fearless Leader says this has worked previously, but I keep seeing visions of that Pink Panther movie finale.

"one mississippi, two mississippi"

keep that assured distance between all vehicles.
