Tuning

Post by alternative »

For anyone with a megasquirt or custom ECU of any fashion, would you be able to send me the tune you use? I can't for the life of me tune this car and I don't have any means to get it to a tune shop since it doesn't run for more than 5 mins. I can't get it there with the old ECU as there is a problem with that one.

What does the engine do? Run rich?

Why does it stop?

Engine runs really rich, I have to keep the throttle pressed significantly so the air fuel ratio is at least halfway right. I've tried decreasing and increasing the injector flow rate to no avail.

If the engine stops on its own while idling very rich, then you may be pouring so much gas into it that the bores get washed, rings overheat and the engine stops once the ring gap goes to zero.

This will wear out the rings and the bore in a hurry.

I don't think that is the situation because the engine only stalls once I let off the accelerator, otherwise it runs.

I'm mostly looking for anyone with a tune map for the car, even if its not the same year, just something to go off of.
