1982 Vin Decoding

Hello

Newbie to the site with I think, a really basic question.

Is there a source to allow a 1982 124 vin to be decoded by individual characters/numbers in the vin?

There are all sorts of sites that claim they can decode the vin and all they tell me is that, yes, it's a 1982 124 Spider. After that, they want $$$ to tell me things I'm not interested in knowing.

I have a few of the characters in this particular vin figured out, but I'd like to be able to know what each individual one means.

5 = Check Digit
B = Model Year (1980=A 1981=B 1982=C...through 2039=Z)
8187411 = Chassis Number
