Anybody know where I can buy a spare tire for my 1977 124 spider?
I would prefer a small donut type tire that will fit in the trunk.
I currently have 15" tires, but I could use a 13" as a spare or do I need to find a 15" spare?
Thanks for your help!

First do you have a 13" rim. If so you can get tires at tireeasy.com they have a nice selection. I like the Achilles tires. I have them on 2 of my cars. The size that is closest to original diameter is 185/70 13. This size fits in the truck.

I put one from Fiat 500 and use it in front only. No rubbing

Actually I need the whole wheel, not just the tire.
So if I have a flat, Is it ok to use a 13" spare if the rest of the wheels are 15"?

It should be fine to use a 13” as a spare. The circumference should be very similar if you size the 15” correctly. The 13 fits perfectly in the trunk of course. I just put a 15 in my trunk and it fits fine too. It’s slightly taller so the board cover pops up slightly but I’ll be able to trim that out easily enough.peteshack wrote:Actually I need the whole wheel, not just the tire.

Here’s my 15” in the trunk. Had to put the wheel in with the inner side up and use a wedge to pin it in place. Clears my fuel pump.

I now have a 13” spare available with a new tire on it. I’m in Texas.
