Alternative Seats
Folks, I repaired a small tear in the drivers seat last week and it has me thinking about longer drives with my aging back. In particular, I "may" want to drive to Houston in the coming months for FIAT freakout. So I am revisiting a popular topic of aftermarket seats. In all the posts about the seats using various methods for aftermarket seat install I do not recall the measurements for the space between bolts/Phillips screws on the floor mounted seat rails or the effective height of the stock seat. We discuss the aftermarket seats raising you up a couple inches. Has anyone created a cardboard template to use when figuring out the potential options. the procar 80-1500 looks like a good aftermarket seat. Does anyone have a picture of the bottom of that seat as the manufacturers do not show mounting points to plan in advance of purchase. I know I can recover the existing seats but that may not get me to the comfort point desired. Has anyone used these seats and can they give a reference for this seat or another that has the classic look. I may take the seats out this weekend and if installing the procar seats mentioned above document the process. However, if someone has installed these I would defer to experience first.

I installed the Procar seats.
And I used these adapter brackets which worked flawlessy and raised the seat about an inch. I bought them through Moto-Obscura.

Re: Alternative Seats
Ordered the Procar Classic 1500 seats and Moto-Obscura adapters this week. Looking forward to having new seats. Stumbled across an installation video and it looks to be one of the easiest mods I've seen to date. Fingers crossed. I'll post pics once all materials are in and install complete.

Installation takes less than an hour. Post a picture when they're in!

Seats in this past weekend. They are significantly more firm and sit at about the same ride height. Used some mustang Recaro seat belt guides easily modified by drilling a hole on one side for the headrest post to pass through.
