Somehow dried Battery Acid seems to always accumulate onto everything anywhere near the Battery.
The Acid eats thru the paint and starts the rusting cancer of the metal.
I use Baking Soda and water mixed in a spray bottle then spray the mixture on all of the Acid deposits. It starts foaming right away as the Baking Soda neutralizes the Acid. While it is still wet I use the hose to flush it off. Repeat the Baking Soda spray again and use a brush to give it a good scrubbing and again rinse it clean with hose water.
Once the Acid is neutralized and washed off the parts are now ready for rust removal, sanding, primer, and new paint.

Bummer about all the corrosion, but it looks like you're getting it under control. Just a thought: I'd check the charging output of your alternator, as modern batteries don't usually leak that much acid if the charging is normal. Overcharging can cause problems, and you want the alternator to charge around 14.4 volts. 15 volts or higher is too much.

You can buy battery mats that will neutrality any acid that spills. Summit has them, much easier than the clean up your doing. I don't like to see more than 14.1 volts from my charging systems, that keeps the batteries from losing acid.

My Spider project has been on hold for a while but I finally finished removing the rust in the Trunk and Repainted it to look like original.
I took the Gas tank to the Machine Shop I work at and boiled it down to clean shiny steel inside and out then repainted it before putting it back in place.
This Spider had sat for about the last 7 years with gas in the tank turning to goo, so I did not want any bad residue getting to the engine so I boiled it all out of the tank

I also was able to get all the wiring and Gauges all checked out and working and Back in place where everything belongs.
The tarnished Metal Spokes on the Steering Wheel polished up pretty good also.

When I had an airplane, I stopped at a podunk airport to refuel. Some guy at the FBO noticed that there was water coming out of the airplane. The voltage regulator had gone bad, and the battery was getting overcharged. I filled up the battery and continued the flight. After takeoff, I turned the electrical system off, and just turned it on when landing or taking off. When I got back, I replaced the regulator.
